The chapel on Lamb Holm is two army huts joined together. A caretaker was opening it. "What is your job?" she asked him. He opened the doors in the morning and closed them at night.

Inside, you forget the huts. Italian prisoners came here in the nineteen forties. They asked for a place to pray. They were given metal huts. They made a painted ceiling and an iron screen.

"What do you need to complete the work?" They asked for cement. They got cement. Everything else came from rubbish. The candle holders are old tins.

A small tool sat on the sill. "Could you show me how to use this tool?" Polly asked. He showed her. "Could you explain that again?" He did.
