En el último día, Polly voló muy lejos. El cañón se dividía en dos brazos. Ahí vio una torre alta de roca roja con dos puntas arriba.

Se llama la Roca de la Araña. Los navajos dicen que la Mujer Araña vive en la cima. Dicen que ella enseñó a tejer a los Diné.

Polly no se posó ahí. Algunas cosas es mejor solo mirarlas. Se sentó al otro lado y miró la luz. Dorada, luego naranja, luego gris.

Un pájaro pequeño cantó debajo de ella. El sonido volvía desde las paredes. Polly pensó en el cañón por mucho tiempo. Luego voló hacia el oeste.
