The Blue Stone on the Beach

Polly flies along the coast. On one side there are green mountains. On the other side there is the sea. The road between them is very narrow. This is the southwest of the Dominican Republic. Not many visitors come here.

Polly follows the road south. Small rivers come down from the mountains and run into the sea. The river water is cold. The sea water is warm.

The beach here has no sand. It is made of small round stones. They are grey and white and brown. The waves move the stones and they make a loud noise.

Polly walks on the stones. Then she stops. One stone is blue. It is blue inside too. It looks like water that has gone hard.
