That is not really true, and the family who cook it will tell you so. Every evening they clean the pot. They keep only a small amount of the old soup. The next morning that small amount goes into the new soup, with the meat and about a dozen spices. Then they cook it for many hours.

So it is not one pot of soup from fifty years ago. It is more like bread. A baker keeps a little of yesterday to start today. Three generations of one family have kept this soup going in that way. The grandfather started it. Honestly, that is a better story than the one on the internet.
