The Sheep at the Gate

Polly gets up early. She sits on the wall with Berta. She hears many little bells. Sheep come through the old gate.

A shepherd walks behind the sheep. He has a big white dog. The dog is very calm. The sheep know the way.

Polly asks the dog: can I come? The dog nods. They walk up to the green meadow. The sheep eat grass all day.

In the evening they walk home. Polly rides on a sheep. She feels like part of the family. It is a good day.
