A Day at the River

A river goes around the town, like a ring. Today Polly visits the river. She wants a slow day.

By the water it is cool. The water is clean and cold. Trees hang over the river. Blue dragonflies fly over the water. Polly walks on the small path.

She watches little insects on the water. She listens to the river. High above, the pink houses look down.

In the evening a fox comes to drink. Polly and the fox look at each other. Then the fox goes away. Polly flies home happy.
