Hunters of the Sky

Polly climbed to the very edge of the mountain. Below her, the rock fell straight down into the sea, and the waves looked tiny from so high up.

Polly kletterte bis ganz an den Rand des Berges. Unter ihr fiel der Fels senkrecht ins Meer, und die Wellen sahen aus dieser Höhe winzig klein aus.

The warm morning air rose up along the face of the cliff. Polly opened her wings, and the rising wind lifted her without any effort at all.

Die warme Morgenluft stieg an der Felswand empor. Polly öffnete ihre Flügel, und der aufsteigende Wind hob sie mühelos in die Höhe.

A great eagle appeared and floated beside her. It had a white belly, and it did not flap its wings even once. It simply rode the wind along the wall of rock, calm and sure.

Ein großer Adler tauchte auf und schwebte neben ihr her. Er hatte einen weißen Bauch und schlug kein einziges Mal mit den Flügeln. Er ritt einfach auf dem Wind entlang der Felswand, ruhig und sicher.

Suddenly a falcon dived past her, as fast as a falling stone. Polly laughed out loud and let the warm wind carry her even higher into the sky.

Plötzlich schoss ein Falke an ihr vorbei, schnell wie ein fallender Stein. Polly lachte laut auf und ließ sich vom warmen Wind noch höher in den Himmel tragen.
