The Town of Golden Stone

Polly flew down into the old town. Narrow streets wound between low white houses.

Polly flög ner till den gamla staden. Smala gator slingrade sig mellan låga vita hus.

In the middle stood a great church. It looked like a castle, with high walls, a tall tower, and battlements along the top.

I mitten stod en stor kyrka. Den såg ut som ett slott, med höga murar, ett högt torn och tinnar längs toppen.

It was built from golden stone too. The same stone from the cave by the sea built the church and the windmills. Now Polly understood.

Den var också byggd av gyllene sten. Samma sten från grottan vid havet byggde kyrkan och kvarnarna. Nu förstod Polly.

Down at the port, a fisher mended his nets beside the boats. The morning catch shone in the sun. Polly said hello and flew on.

Nere vid hamnen lagade en fiskare sina nät bredvid båtarna. Morgonens fångst glänste i solen. Polly sa hej och flög vidare.
