The Carved Cave

Polly flew down to the sea. A dark cave opened in the bottom of the cliff. People call it the Cova Tallada, the carved cave.

Polly lensi alas meren luo. Tumma luola avautui kallion alla. Ihmiset kutsuvat sitä Cova Talladaksi, veistetyksi luolaksi.

Inside, the walls were flat and straight. Long ago, people cut this stone by hand. Polly could still see the marks of their old tools.

Sisällä seinät olivat tasaisia ja suoria. Kauan sitten ihmiset veistivät tätä kiveä käsin. Polly näki vielä vanhojen työkalujen jäljet.

The stone glowed warm and golden. Half of the cave was rock, and half was clear blue sea.

Kivi hohti lämpimänä ja kultaisena. Puolet luolasta oli kalliota, ja puolet oli kirkasta sinistä merta.

Light came through the mouth of the cave and danced on the water. Polly touched the cool wall. She wanted to remember the colour of this golden stone.

Valo tuli luolan suusta ja tanssi veden pinnalla. Polly kosketti viileää seinää. Hän halusi muistaa tämän kultaisen kiven värin.
