Polly's Trip to Venice

As the sun went down, Polly the parrot flew over Venice. The city looked like it was floating on the sea. Old buildings with beautiful designs lined the canals. Polly's colorful wings stood out against the soft colors of the buildings. Church bells rang as she arrived, mixing with a gondolier's song. Polly landed on a stone railing by the Grand Canal. She watched the boats move up and down the water. Venice was special because it was always connected to the water. Each wave and reflection seemed to tell a story. Polly looked at the busy Rialto Market nearby. Vendors shouted in Italian, selling fresh fruits and spices. The air smelled like fresh bread and the sea. Polly saw a young woman by the canal. She looked worried and held a map. It seemed like she was unsure where to go. Polly felt she should help the woman. Maybe she could be a friend and guide in this city of dreams.

Als die Sonne unterging, flog Polly der Papagei über Venedig. Die Stadt sah aus, als würde sie auf dem Meer schweben. Alte Gebäude mit wunderschönen Designs säumten die Kanäle. Pollys bunte Flügel hoben sich von den sanften Farben der Gebäude ab. Kirchenglocken läuteten, als sie ankam, und mischten sich mit dem Lied eines Gondoliere. Polly landete auf einem steinernen Geländer am Canal Grande. Sie beobachtete die Boote, die auf dem Wasser auf und ab fuhren. Venedig war besonders, weil es immer mit dem Wasser verbunden war. Jede Welle und Spiegelung schien eine Geschichte zu erzählen. Polly schaute zum geschäftigen Rialto-Markt in der Nähe. Händler riefen auf Italienisch und verkauften frisches Obst und Gewürze. Die Luft roch nach frischem Brot und dem Meer. Polly sah eine junge Frau am Kanal. Sie sah besorgt aus und hielt eine Karte. Es schien, als wüsste sie nicht, wohin sie gehen sollte. Polly fühlte, dass sie der Frau helfen sollte. Vielleicht könnte sie eine Freundin und Führerin in dieser Stadt der Träume sein.
